Roger Bacon was an early philosopher who is remembered for his contributions to the modern scientific method, building on the ideas of Greek and Arabic scientists. In the series, he was an immortal agent of Isis and Osiris, and is referred to as Dr. John Dee's predecessor (i.e., his masters' preferred human servant). Under his masters' orders, he attempted to intercept Nicholas and Perenelle Flamel in Spain, however the attack failed. His failures eventually caused him to fall out of favour with his masters, who revoked his immortality (resulting in his death).

- Immortality: Roger Bacon gained Immortality from his Dark Elder masters, and therefore does not age (though he is vulnerable to injury and poison). Unless his masters choose to take his immortality away, Roger Bacon may live for thousands or millions of years.
